If you going to the art store involves you staring at all the endless options and feeling overwhelmed, this is for you. Here’s a comprehensive list of our favorite calligraphy products!

BRUSH CALLIGRAPHY SUPPLIES

  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens
  • Faber & Castel Brush Pen (the B = brush and not the SB = soft brush)
  • Momento Dual Brush Pens (there isn’t as much ink in these as the Tombow)
  • Higgins Eternal Ink – Black (Such a lovely watercolor consistency, my favorite ink! Caution: may bleed on printer paper, but will be fine on Rhodia, layout bond paper, or mixed media paper)
  • Speedball India Ink (this ink is thicker than the Higgins and won’t bleed through on thin paper)
  • 4 round brush
  • 2 round brush (finer lines)
  • Canson Mix Media or Sketch books (this will work for watercolor ink — like the Higgins — and regular markers. Note that your Tombow brush pens will last longer on smooth marker or layout bond paper)
  • Borden & Riley Layout Bond Paper (this thinner paper is more expensive that regular sketch paper but is super smooth and semi-transparent, making it great for tracing.)

POINTED PEN CALLIGRAPHY SUPPLIES
